“The
mistakes of the world are warning message for you.”
by Amit Kalantri
People make mistakes of thinking that
Arthritis is only found in dogs. Don't follow everything what the world does,
research about it and then take appropriate measures. People find it unusual
that felines can also suffer from arthritis like dogs do. Cat owners should
look out for indications in their pets to avoid any serious predicaments. Now,
the question arises, how you would spot the signs that are causing pain to your
cat.
Major symptoms to look for in cat suffering
from arthritis are:
- Difference in behavior
If your cat is acting weird around you, all
cranked up, getting irritated, or feeling anxious then you need
to contact a vet at the earliest. Restlessness in the cats is often
misinterpreted as aging cause but it might be because of arthritis. These are
the very basic signs displayed by cat if it is suffering from joint pain.
- Licking and biting
Cats usually don't exhibit the pain they
are undergoing. Actions like licking, biting or chewing their skin are also a
few signs you should not ignore.
- Movement complications
Your cat might be more dependent on the
legs which doesn't have joint pain and limp while walking. If the cat is not
active in walking or running up and down the stairs or playing around, then it
is having complications in moving.
- No self-grooming
Cats suffering from arthritis pain may
spend less time in grooming themselves. The fur coat of the cat becomes matted
and soiled. Even the claws become overgrown because of lack of proper
maintenance which is reduced due to the pain. They also tend to over groom the
areas affected by the pain.
- Littering issues
Most of the cats suffering from joint pain
have difficulty in using litter box and might spoil your flooring by urinating
outside the litter box. The pain might cause difficulty for cats to move in and
out of the litter box.
- Tiredness
If your cat starts taking frequent naps and
rests for a long time, not playing outside or walking, these things indicate
towards joint pain. So, hurry up and take your cat for a checkup.
Arthritis is commonly found in older cats
but due to some trauma or accident in the initial years of life, it might
develop early. So, you need to look out for signs and not take it lightly. It
needs to be cured at the earliest. Don't let your cat suffer from such extreme
pain. However, to prevent early arthritic conditions in your cat, you can
depend on joint supplements. Treating your feline friend with joint care supplements like joint guard for cats, seaflex joint supplements can help to lower the
symptoms of arthritis in cats. It is essential to take care of your kitty’s
joint health for your pet’s vitality and agility.
